Aluminium acetate (Alum acetate) is the recommended mordant for cellulose fiber. Its ability for increased color absorption is very useful while dyeing the relatively tougher cellulose fibers like cotton and linen. It does not have any color and thus helps to keep retain the original color of dyes on fiber.
